Maintenance
Creating a great garden is just the beginning. Where it goes from there is all in the maintenance.
Paul Chappell and Michelle Byrne
Unlike the rest of a house, gardens need to mature. They don’t start at their peaks, and they don’t stand still. As living ecosystems, they change with the seasons and grow more beautiful over time with proper care. If you think your newly finished garden looks good now, wait till you see it a few years down the road.
For many of our clients, the greatest joy comes from simply spending time lounging or entertaining in their gardens. In order to get the most from yours, it is important that plants are fed, shaped, watered, mulched, and nurtured on a regular basis.
JGLD’s maintenance professionals are all qualified horticulturalists with a keen understanding of how to keep plants healthy, and maintain the overall harmony of your garden’s ecosystem. They can work together with your existing lawn contractors and yourself, or take care of all aspects of maintenance from weekly, monthly, quarterly, to as often as required.
Our services include weed removal, the pruning of plants to maintain a desired form, improving soil structure with ameliorants, and fertilization with both organic and chemical formulas. In the event of problems with pests or disease, the team will treat them or install new plantings as required.
In addition, we also:
- Top up mulch
- Remove associated rubbish
- Clean paved/hard surfaces
- Repair and adjust existing irrigation systems for seasonal change
- Arrange for tree work to be carried out
- Adjust and maintain 12-volt garden lighting
- Top dress and upgrade lawns
- Attend to pots
