Newport 3
At this Newport house, the owners wanted to add character and interest to their large garden, and re-design some awkward areas to get more from the space.
The key challenge was to create a defined entrance to the home, making sense of the three existing access locations, as well as provide pleasant views from all aspects of the home into and onto the space.
A structured geometric design was created, with careful placement of sawn sandstone pavers and a water feature. Soft bubbling water cascades into the pond from an ornamental bell pot, making a defined classic statement at the front door and providing a sense of balance.
New landscape lighting and house numbers were installed to further improve access at night and provide a beautiful view in the evening.
The orderly geometry of this design was then softened with looser garden plantings of mixed flowers and foliage, bordered by clipped low Japanese box hedging. Advanced trees were strategically placed to frame views from all aspects of the house.
Simple colour palettes and soft textures contrast with the defined nature of the hedging and stepping stones, resulting in a tranquil garden that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Testimonial
I can’t recommend the team at Joanne Green Landscapes highly enough. From start to finish, our experience was a positive one and the results are superb! Their team listened to us from the start and came back with ideas that were ‘us’. When it came to the onsite work, the project team were easy to work with and very thoughtful. Great people, great work and now… a great garden!
