Beauty Point 2

With a superb location overlooking a harbour and its many boats below, this home in Beauty Point, NSW needed a garden that would serve two purposes: lend a natural screen of privacy on all sides, as well as enhance the dramatic views. Fortunately, the newly built property also included an exquisite, jewel-like swimming pool that would sit at one corner and anchor the landscape design. A generous amount of land also facilitated the creation of a formal garden which could supply the house with flowers, and the kitchen with fresh herbs.

Screen plantings of Frangipani (Plumeria acutifolia var. rubra) and Little Gem Magnolias took care of the privacy in style, while an assortment of Gardenias (Gardenia florida), Sweet Virburnums (Viburnum odoratissimum), and others framed the house and an all-glass viewing window at the end of the garden. Shrouded in lush greenery, a stone feature wall and other classic touches like limestone pavers and random stepping stones set in gravel make the grounds a joy to explore.

Joanne Green believes in working closely with clients to give them gardens they can be proud to own, and as a result, many features can truly be appreciated on a daily basis. A couch lawn lets the family enjoy their beautiful property, while a small wooden deck by the swimming pool is perfect for sitting or diving from. In-ground stormwater tanks collect water for the drip irrigation systems, as well as some of the household’s water needs. Of course, it’s easy to appreciate nature and the environment in a home like this one.
